Which massage is for me?

Over the last two weeks I was very lucky enough to experience two very different types of massage with specialist massage therapist, Coleman’s Massage.

The first was a Deep Tissue Massage, unlike traditional massages this doesn’t focus on relaxation but helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. However, while it was definitely sensitive at points, particularly when working my stiff shoulders, Coleman’s Massage actually did help me unwind mentally.

After my massage, Coleman did warn me that I would experience some lingering soreness for a few days. However, this is totally normal and could be relieved using a heating pad or a cold pack wrapped in a towel.

I’d definitely recommend this massage for people suffering from sports injuries or like me are just guilty of not stretching after the gym and suffer with bad posture at work.

The second massage was much more therapeutic and relaxing, a Holistic Massage. Sometimes referred to as a Swedish massage, a Holistic Massage refers to Mind, Body and Soul. Using much gentler pressure, Coleman’s Holistic Massage used broad, flowing strokes, helping calm the nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As the body then becomes more relaxed, Coleman then gradually increased the pressure to specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension.

If you’re looking for a relaxing massage to unwind or a gift for a friend, I’d definitely suggest a holistic massage.
